I look forward to August because of this:Susannah Conway, author of this i know, put this list together to offer us a break from our usual writing routine. Here we can slow down a bit and express with photos instead of words. Of course we can choose to use this list in anyway that inspires us. So in the next days and weeks, I'll plan to post some of my offerings in this August Break change of pace tradition. Sometimes I'll add words; often the photo will stand alone. Today's prompt: Morning Light
Every morning, after the alarm alerts me that it is time to wake up, I quietly rise, slide into my slippers and silently pad to the door, closing it softly behind me. After a quick bathroom stop and the pouring of a first cup of coffee, my cosy little writing studio finds me settled into my comfortable desk chair, looking to the sky for the first time. I am curious about what I might find.
This view faces west over our neighbor's two story house so what I see here is a reflection of what is happening in the east. I can imagine the beginning rays of the rising sun casting their glory across the eastern sky. Summer is best because the sun rises before I do. That makes my first look a bright, soft light, like a gentle yawn nuzzling me awake.
The morning light is so fresh, innocent and full of promise. This is a new day! What will it bring my way?
In 2 Corinthians 4:6 I find these light saturated words: For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts... so I know it's going to be a good day.
